About

Sport Forecasters was born out of a desire to raise the accountability for experts that are hired on various platforms across the sports industry. Too often, news networks across all industries focus on elevating analysts that provide entertainment over ones who have proven to be accurate in order to attract viewers. Therefore, the goal of this company is to provide a comprehensive metric that allows the wider sports audience to see how accurate hired sports analysts are when making forecasts or predictions to the general audience. We look to celebrate accurate forecasters who may not get the credit they deserve and create a more informed audience by giving attention to those analysts who have a history of being correct. We will evaluate analysts on a variety of channels including television, podcasts, and other websites that draw large audiences.

In order to fairly judge each analyst, we have created a flexible, unique system that judges each person against their own contemporaries as well as how accurate they are in general. We have also standardized the definition of a prediction in order to fairly judge each analyst against one another.

Currently, we are only looking at the following sports: NFL, NBA, NCAAF (college football) and NCAAB (men’s college basketball). We are looking to expand the sports we cover in the future.

Since the purpose of this website is to determine who are the “experts” and true “forecasters” of the sports industry, our data will track the predictions of the major analysts on tv, the top 5 podcasts (by audience) for each pertinent sport( NFL, NBA, NCAAF, NCAAM), and any niche analyst if desired by the general public. If operations are able to expand, we will expand the coverage of analysts and go back to backtrack their historical record if possible. We are also looking at tracking and evaluating sportsbooks odds in the near future.
